Minimalist Baby Registry
When I first was given the task to create a baby registry, I felt completely overwhelmed! I had no idea what to add and there seemed to be a million options out there. So, I did some digging, asked all my friends, and came up with a simplified registry list of things that you actually need for your first baby. **This is not a sponsored post nor do I get referral fees from any of the brands I mention below! I just want to share my list to make it easier for other new mamas out there!
Baby Travel + Transportation
- Carseat and base (I chose this Chicco Keyfit Infant Car Seat because it had great safety reviews!)
- Brica Baby car mirror. This was a suggestion from one of my friends and helps her baby stay happy in the car.
- Stroller. I tried out a ton of different models but I loved this one by Baby Jogger for when baby gets a little older. Such a smooth ride and perfect for walks! You can also get convertible/bassinet type models that work for when your babe is smaller.
- Baby wrap or sling. When your baby is small, it's great to wear them when possible. It has many benefits including bonding, improved desire to nurse, and comfort.
Nap time Necessities
- Fisher-Price Auto Rock n' Play Sleeper. Everyone I know swears by this!
- Dock-A-Tot is another friend favorite. Some of their babies will ONLY sleep in this!
- Graco Pack 'n Play. This is so great to take with you on trips even if it's just an overnight in a hotel or at a friend's house. It sets up easily (once you figure it out the first time haha) and travels well.
Feeding Time
- Bumbo floor seat. This a great alternative to a high chair. My house didn't have room for a full-size high chair so we went with this. Love the grey color!
- Bamboobies nursing bra pads. If the name alone doesn't convince you the fact that you can throw them in the wash and reuse them should! Great alternative to the disposable version.
- Bobby nursing pillow. This is wonderful not only for nursing but to help little children practice holding your baby. It allows them to 'hold' the baby without any of the risk of being dropped.
- Bottle cleaner with nipple attachment. Make your dishwashing life easier!
Clothing + Accessories
- White onesies. Honestly, in my opinion you can't go wrong with simple, white onesies.
- Beanies. I love this three-pack from Target.
- Swaddles. Aden and Anais are beautiful. If you're looking for a more inexpensive route, this two pack from Carter's is very cute.
- Burp cloths. I love these from Burt's Bees and I love that they are organic cotton.
Nursery
- Diaper Pail. Across the board, this diaper pail is a must have. Especially to control those stinky blowouts!
- Rocking chair or glider with ottoman. This is completely personal preference because every body shape and size is different. You honestly have to try as many out as possible to make sure you love it. Make sure you get an ottoman as well. It doesn't have to be a 'set' with your glider but you will want something to put your feet up with.
- A soft light. I chose this cute little nightlight to give some light at night when needed.
Toys + Books
- Oli + Carol fruit and veggie chew toys. These are made of 100% natural rubber from Malaysian Hevea trees and hand-painted with natural, food-grade dyes plus they ridiculously cute!
- Pick any of your favorite books! I have a sentimental relationship with Pat the Bunny, Momotaro, Tikki Tikki Tembo, and Where the Wild Things Are so those are what I chose but make this section completely you! All of these are choices for older babes but there's something special about choosing the books that give you great memories.
